The meaning of religion
Before talking about the need for religion in general, and particularly of Islam, we should explain the meaning to be the word (religion).
We do not want to prolong talk when linguists, and when historians of religions, philosophers boredom and bees, and enter into the issue directly.
This has been discussed Shaykh Dr. Muhammad Abdullah Draz, in his book values (religion) and then came out the following definition of religion, any religion, it is true or corrupt, written or heathen.

The difference between Islam and other religions written: that God Save the origins of Islam and its sources as a last message to mankind, no distortion or missed the switch, while not preserve sources of other religions and their holy books, Vhrvat, changed, or lost.
2 -, religions and idolatry, or the status attributed to land is not heaven, and to people not to God (such as Buddhism) in China and Japan, and the (Hindu) in India, and (Parsee) in Persia of old, and other religions in Asia and Africa.
